What is a SIRES, and what is NOM-024

NOM-024-SSA3-2012 is Mexico's official standard governing the systems where a patient's electronic health record is kept. A system that meets this standard is certified by the Directorate General of Health Information (DGIS), part of the Ministry of Health, and earns the technical name SIRES — Sistema de Información de Registro Electrónico para la Salud (Health Information Registry System).

Certification is valid for two years and must be renewed. The list of certified systems is public information, but it only lives on the DGIS site, as individual records for each certificate — there's no downloadable table or consolidated view. This page exists to fix that: bringing the full list together in one place, verified, with context on who each system serves.

How we verified this data

Methodology. This list was built by consulting the DGIS official list of certified SIRES directly on September 25, 2026, reviewing the detail record for each of the 38 systems active that day. All identifying data (legal name, SIRES system, scope, validity period and folio) comes directly from each system's official DGIS record. The declared specialty was built from that same official record and, when needed to reflect a company's full scope, from information published on its own site. We recommend always confirming current status directly at the official source.

What each system's declared specialty shows

Reading through the specialty each system declares, a clear pattern emerges: the large majority of the 38 certified SIRES are built around a traditional medical specialty — dentistry, ophthalmology, nephrology, general hospital care, or multi-specialty outpatient care for private practices and clinics. These are systems designed for a patient who walks into a practice on their own, or for broad populations spanning several kinds of patients at once.

Within that universe, Sherpa is the only system whose declared specialty corresponds exclusively to occupational health for businesses: managing the electronic health records of a company's employees, not general outpatient medical care.
